Featured - Website Usability Testing Workshop
Are you the parent or carer of a school age child in Hackney?

Hackney Learning Trust would like to speak to parents and carers of school age children about the schools admissions information on their website.  Sessions should take around 30 minutes to an hour to complete and they will be asking people to try using their website to complete a few set tasks so they can see whether it works as intended.

There are three sessions:
- Monday 29 October 2018, 6-7pm (primary session)
- Tuesday 30 October 2018, 6-7pm (primary and secondary session)
- Thursday 1 November 2018, 6-7pm (secondary session)

All three sessions will be held at a central Hackney location and will be confirmed to those selected to take part.

6 respondents will be selected for each session who meet the criteria required.  All participants will receive a £25 M&S voucher.

Featured - Cycling Survey and Quick Poll

Do you cycle?  What type of cyclist are you?  Are you a summer or winter cyclist?

Hackney Council continually works to make Hackney the most enjoyable borough to cycle in, whether you want to explore the boroughs numerous parks, stop off at a local cafe or make the morning commute. This winter we are looking for feedback on what we can do to ensure that these journeys are just as easy and enjoyable during winter as they are in summer. It could be something as simple as a pair of lights or a bit assistance getting your bike running smoothly. Whether you are seasoned cyclist or someone whose bike usually goes into hibernation at this time of year, we want to hear from you!

If you cycle, answer the Quick Poll question to earn 3 points (worth 30p) and then take part in the short survey and earn an additional 10 points(worth £1).

Group Talk – Wick Woodland

There is still time to take part in this group talk discussion about Wick Woodland.

The Council are interested in hearing how you use Wick Woodland and understanding the impacts of antisocial behaviour and environmental damage in this much-loved woodland area.

The Council has received a number of complaints over many years about anti-social behaviour.  Your views will help the Council better understand its effects, and how best to promote and protect the use of the woodland as a place for everyone in Hackney to enjoy.

To take part, login to www.hackneymatters.org.uk and click on the image under “Featured Group Talk”.  You can earn 10 points (worth £1) for taking part, so please give us your views.

Have Your Say - Hackney Transport Survey 2018

Hackney Council would like to find out how residents who work in Hackney travel to work as part of a huge borough-wide survey to encourage greener travel.

The information from this survey will help them understand how people travel to work, what would encourage people to walk and cycle more or reduce their reliance on a car. This would allow them to see what they are doing well and what they can do to improve and encourage greener travel in the borough.

If you live or work in Hackney, please take the survey and you have the chance to win one of two £100 cash prizes. Employers can also apply for grants of up to £2,000 towards sustainable transport promotion or facilities. In order to apply businesses will need at least 30 percent of their employees to respond.  The survey has been extended and now closes on 14 October 2018.

Can you help promote Hackney Matters at our upcoming events?

●     Do you like to volunteer and help out?

●     Can you spare a few hours to promote and get new members signed up to Hackney Matters?

●     Would you like to be rewarded with a £10 or £20 Love2Shop voucher for your time?

If you answer Yes to all those questions, then please register your interest by clicking here.

NB: Depending on the number of requests we receive, we will randomly choose 2 to 3 members for each event.  If you are not chosen straight away, do not worry as we have many events happening throughout the year so there will be plenty of opportunities to help out in the future.

Take part in our regular quick polls

When you log in to the website, you will have seen a quick poll question which changes every couple of weeks.  This is a very quick way of getting feedback on a particular question, which we like to call a “temperature test”.  This means that we do not have to ask 5 to 10 questions in a survey to get the information we need, or to have a group discussion about it, but we can ask a simple multi-choice question to get an immediate result.  The results of these questions can lead towards changes in the way we do things or inform further research in future.

You can view the results of the previous quick polls by clicking on the “We Asked, You Said , We Did - Feedback page” with the picture of the megaphone .  Here you can also see results of the other activities you have taken part in, and this will be updated regularly.
