Focus Groups - Review on 'Digital First primary care and the implications for GP Practices'

Focus Groups - Monday 13 May 2019 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm at a central Hackney location.

DIGITAL FIRST PRIMARY CARE

This Focus Group is to explore the benefits and drawbacks of interacting by digital means with your local GP.

This means:

-       Going online to book a GP appointment, to check symptoms or, already in some Hackney Practices, to interact online with a GP

-       Ordering repeat prescriptions, either direct from your GP or a linked local pharmacy or from a national NHS online pharmacy service such as Pharmacy2U

-       Interacting with your local GP via an App on your smartphone

-       Having an actual video consultation with your own GP via an App on your smartphone

-       Having a video consultation via a new service such as GP at Hand

The Group will explore:

-       How much digital interaction you’ve had with your local GP if any

-       Whether or not you’d switch GP to another who provided more services digitally

-       Your views on the GP at Hand, if you’re aware of it.  They promise a video consultation via a smartphone app within 2 hours but means you would have to de-register from your existing GP

-       Your views on how your digital GP is linked up with local services and any concerns you might have here on use of your data

-       Whether you’d be comfortable with video consultations and in what circumstances

-       What you need from your local GP Practice to make it easier for you and your family to interact with it
