Have your say on Shoreditch Park improvement

In response to feedback from local residents, Hackney Council is beginning a £2m project to improve your local park. The Council would love to know what you like about Shoreditch Park and your ideas for how it should go about improving it.

During October there will be opportunities for you to share your views online and at a series of events and workshops in the park, local estates, schools and colleges, and community events.

Once you've had your say we will use your ideas and feedback to shape our designs for the park - whether that's what you tell us to prioritise in the project, what changes you'd like to see, or how we protect the things that you value and love about the park.

Inspiring Young Men Event - volunteers wanted

Young Hackney are looking for enthusiastic male professionals from all walks of life, backgrounds and sectors to volunteer in the next Inspiring Young Men event.

The aim is to inspire young people to think about their future career through real life stories, raise their awareness of the variety of jobs and sectors, as well as different paths to employment (internships, apprenticeships, graduate schemes, university, on the job training etc.).

Volunteers will take part in discussion groups with young men, where they will give valuable insights into their chosen career paths, talking about real life experiences, including the successes and failures that have helped them grow and achieve.

We are particularly keen to hear from men that have an unusual job or career/life journey or work in a non male dominated industry.

Perhaps you didn't follow a traditional path to employment, you might have left school with no qualifications, you might have struggled with your mental health or changed jobs a few times before settling. Or simply have a passion to inspire young people and open their horizons to new opportunities.

To apply please contact xanthippi.karkantou@hackney.gov.uk or 020 8356 3962. Deadline 31st October
